Let's Get The Word Out ( LGTWO ) was inspired by the popular eBook that shook the network marketing industry while also stirring the political ire of many. The book? "Merchants of Deception" or "MOD" as it is often called, is a true Amway Quixtar story like no other and yet unfortunately, like thousands of others. LGTWO is the official take action version of MOD.
What follows is one opinion or one story from someone who knows personally about Amway or Quixtar. Read their story and explore "Let's Get The Word Out!"
Here's What Happened To Me...
An Amway Quixtar story by Peter K

How can you ever be sure?
My background is in mathematics (computer science) and business. I've got quite a bit of worldwide experience and education, plus have travelled in Europe and North America - Canada and USA.
My first exposure to MLM was in a high-tech networking lunch meeting where there was some 1-minute introduction of everyone in the room and a guest speaker would then talk about their new startup etc. I expected everyone in the room to be in the high-tech field so was intrigued when one guy came to me afterwards and asked if I wanted to meet him the next day to discuss an "opportunity"...
"What kind of opportunity?", I asked.
"Helping me import products and building the business", he said.
So we met a few days later over a coffee and he started asking about my current situation and we started to discuss the concept of multiple streams of income. Up till this point I still had no idea what the business was, so I started to ask just what he was after. It slowly evolved from "helping start his company importing products" to joining Amway.
I backed off at that point - although I was sold on the idea of multiple income streams I still wanted to make use of my IT background and recent MBA. Selling household products just didn't seem to make sense for me.
The next MLM that came along was Nikken bracelets. The rep. tried the old "I'll lend you the video and come back in a few days" so that he was guaranteed a second shot at his pitch. Once again I just didn't believe enough in the product to take it further.
A friend of my wife tried to get us into Amway and once again we were not excited by the products. That friend never called us again - another risk of involving friends and family in your MLM.
The fourth MLM that I was introduced to was Quixtar. We went as far as going to someone's house, but all the talk about e-commerce just didn't make sense to me as this was during the dot com boom and I figured I could do better with a real IT company than a "Amway on the web".
So I focused on my IT and business skills, did lots of fun international consulting work, and lately have been helping companies with their sales processes. I also am a rep for a few high tech companies helping build their business here in North America.
I have time for some other MLM and recently I heard about Gano Excel, which is a 10 year old company from Malaysia doing over $100M in business via their MLM system.
If MLM is not for you then read on to learn about something even better.
I have had ok success with this product and looking back it was the only MLM that I myself seeked out and was not solicited by anyone to try it.
However I have now realized that MLM is very tiring and there are much more rewarding businesses out there - like internet marketing. One area that is exciting is affiliate marketing. To learn more click on the site below.

This is just one story or opinion. "Let's Get The Word Out" is a collection of storys and you are invited to join the grassroots movement. Be heard, voice your opinion, tell your story and help us get the word out.
Each word in the LGTWO online book 'Merchants of Deception' will be sponsored and tagged by someone or some corporation. Following in the footsteps of Peter K who shared their story above, we invite you to do the same and help us make a difference.
We are accepting donations (starting at $2 per word). Most of the monies donated will be used to further the cause, help others who have suffered, or cover legal expenses in worthwhile lawsuits. To this end, LGTWO will work with Pyramid Scheme Alert (www.pyramidschemealert.org), a
non profit consumer rights organization. We of course must feed the crew, pay for developers, licenses, techie stuff, hard costs and invest a bit in getting the word out, so we've estimated between 20% to 30% will be used in this manner.
|
Note: Eric Scheibeler will receive NO INCOME (not a cent) from this.
As a matter of fact, 100% of the net donations (donations less the
cost to pay for developers, techie stuff, hard costs and getting the word out) is being donated to Pyramid Scheme Alert (www.pyramidschemealert.org), a
non profit consumer rights organization focused on exposing consumer
fraud in the MLM industry.

Individual support...
As an individual, you may become a 'Word Sponsor.' You will not only help the cause, but you'll get the benefits of membership, such as:
- A Pop-up page, linked to the word(s) you sponsor
- Your own 'Word Sponsor' mini web site to share with others.
- your story or comments blasted across the web
- your photo (if it's not too scarry ;-)
- link to any site you might have
- Ability to post on the Amway QuixSand Blog
- Periodic newsletters to keep you in the loop
- and of course, a big 'Thank You'
Corporate support...
If you run a company or you're involved in the direct sales industry
in a significant way, you can become a 'Corporate Word Sponsor.' Your
company will get a special or custom 'sponsor page' linked to words, a
chapter title or any full page. Your support will help your business
and those legitimately engaged in the direct sales profession. There
are bad 'apples' in all industries and with the support of 'good'
companies we can help make changes for the benefit of all. Are you a
'good' apple? We seek your support.
So that's the scoop. We're helping folks dig out of the sand and prevent others from falling in. It's the collective stories and personal opinions of everyone that will make a difference. Will you join us?
